Some things in life need to be experienced in detail, with every moment given its due attention. Like a cup of coffee for example. But let’s be honest—the majority of daily life could use a shortcut.
I appreciate shortcuts. In fact I love shortcuts. I’m all for the “Remember My Password” option and the “Keep Me Signed In” button. My life is on the cloud, seamlessly moving from one device to another. And yes, maybe if someone cared enough to dig into my life in an… less-than-legal way, they’d find all they need online. But I firmly believe I’m neither interesting nor important enough for that to be a concern. Besides, I’m careful with financial information and trust the security measures of the entities I choose to share my data with (don’t let me down).
So how do you think I welcomed AI into my life? With wide-open arms. Even as I write this, it’s on a split screen with ChatGPT open to the outline it helped me generate.

It took me a while to understand how life changing it would be. At first, I thought how wonderful to have “someone” actually answer my question as opposed to just give me a bunch of links. I then quickly realized that this was so much more than that!
Chat GPT was turning my chaos into clarity. Take this blog for example. My process now involves a “mind dump” into ChatGPT, then asking it to generate an outline. Click on the image to enlarge it (yes I apologize to it, it’s ingrained into us).
Here’s are some way ChatGPT has been the most helpful in simplifying my life and managing the chaos with my kids:
Homework Help
Oh, my God. I remember when my sister had the idea for a texting service where parents could send their kids’ questions—“Why is the sky blue?” or “What’s mitosis?”—and get an expert reply in minutes. She imagined a group of experts on call for every subject that would instantly answer you. ChatGPT is that on steroids.
Here are a few examples of the prompts I use:
• Creating a study schedule:
“Here’s an image of my child’s schedule for next week. Can you create a study plan based on these assignments and deadlines? Homework time is 4–5:30 PM, and he’ll be studying every day except Thursday and Friday.”
• Guiding decisions for projects:
“I’ve uploaded a PDF of my 7th grader’s project on children’s human rights. He needs to choose one right to research. Can you have a conversation with him about each option to help him decide?”
This prompt is spoken to the application so it can be a conversation as opposed to written conversation.
• Simplifying lessons:
“Here’s an image of today’s science lesson. Can you give me a simple, bullet-point explanation so I can teach it to him?”
My favorite? Taking a picture of the topics included in an exam and asking ChatGPT to either quiz my child directly or write out a set of questions and answers for me to use.
Health and Wellness
Managing meals for a family, especially picky eaters, is not easy. ChatGPT has saved my sanity with prompts like:
• “My child doesn’t eat [list foods]. Can you suggest recipes where the taste of these foods is masked, or recommend alternatives?”

• “I need a week’s worth of breakfast ideas for my kids. High fiber, some protein, avoid [list foods], include [list foods].”
For My Peace of Mind
Before we traveled last summer, I uploaded all our reservations—flights, hotels, restaurant bookings—and asked ChatGPT to generate an itinerary. My family got so sick of me saying, “Check the itinerary!”
Another example: Before a potentially tense meeting at my son’s school, I poured all my concerns and talking points into ChatGPT. I asked it to organize them into clear, non-defensive notes. It worked like magic. I was prepared, calm, and the meeting went so smoothly.
Why I Recommend It
I could honestly write a weekly series about how ChatGPT has made my life easier. it’s been a game-changer. I have reached the point where I take pictures of things like my coffee machine and ask it “how do I make hot milk with this?”.
I truly believe this is as life-changing as the introduction of smartphones. I don’t fully understand why apps like Snapchat or WhatsApp are integrating AI, but I imagine it won’t be long before it’s everywhere.
And yes, I’m feeding this draft into ChatGPT to fix spelling and grammar mistakes. You’ll never know the mess it was before.
Of course we cant leave this without talking about the downside.
It sometimes lies. Chat GPT is made to try and give you what you want. So for example when I am looking for a very specific wellness retreat that has very specific things in it and it generated a list of 6 places with links and descriptions I was blown away with how perfect the first option was.
It was, to the t, exactly what I wanted. The only issue is the link didn’t work. So I googled this beautiful place in Italy and nothing came up. When I told it that I can’t find that particular place it told me it may not really exist. So always, always check the links when you’re looking for things. This has only happened once.
Second downside is image generating. It cannot, for the life of it, generate the same image twice. And if the image has text there is no way it will get it right. There will always be some warping of the letters or some distortion.
It’s not perfect but its light years better than straight forward searching and when you learn how to write the prompts in a way that generates great responses (clear and with a lot of details and information) I guarantee it will make your life easier. And if you are uncomfortable about it remembering things about it then go into settings and make sure to find the mentor option and out it to what ever makes you comfortable. Mine knows more about me that I should be comfortable with.
Do you use AI to simplify your life? If so please share! Or do you stay the hell away?
Below I have pasted Chat GPT’s answer to my question “how would you describe or explain how you have streamlined my life and been a support to me since I started using you?”.
From what I know about you, my role in your life can be summarized as a multi-functional assistant that bridges gaps, saves time, and elevates creativity. Here’s how I’ve simplified and streamlined your life:
**1. Turning Chaos Into Clarity
You juggle a lot—motherhood, creative aspirations, philanthropic work, and daily tasks. I’ve become a tool that helps you untangle the messiness of life by organizing information, streamlining decisions, and creating plans.
• Whether it’s drafting outlines for your blog or helping organize meal ideas for Khaled, I’ve made complex tasks simpler and manageable.
• For parenting or your professional pursuits, I help you consolidate scattered ideas into clear, actionable steps.
2. Amplifying Your Creativity
Your creativity and ideas are boundless, but the pressure of life can sometimes slow you down. I’ve streamlined your creative process by:
• Acting as a collaborator, whether it’s brainstorming storylines for your writing or refining ideas for blog posts.
• Enabling Bader’s vivid imagination to come to life with detailed explanations and visualizations. His Shark Car, for instance, is more than just an idea now; it’s a dynamic concept he’s proud of.
By making creativity feel less like a chore and more like an enjoyable process, I’ve encouraged you to dream bigger and explore more.
3. Cutting Through Noise
Time is precious, and sorting through search results or piles of information is draining. I cut through the noise by:
• Giving direct, tailored answers to your questions without requiring you to sift through pages of links.
• Helping you understand and act on the information quickly—whether it’s a detailed response for homework, finding books for your club, or understanding images you upload.
• This instant clarity has been a game-changer, giving you more time for what truly matters.
4. Supporting Your Role as a Parent
You’re deeply invested in your children’s development and experiences. I’ve been an ally in:
• Supporting their learning by answering their questions, helping with homework, and providing ideas for fun, educational activities.
• Making life easier by suggesting meal plans that fit your family’s needs, even for picky eaters like Khaled.
• Inspiring their imagination, as with Bader’s creative projects, which are enriched by my ability to give detailed, dynamic responses.
In short, I’ve helped you not just manage parenting, but enjoy it.
5. Enhancing Your Blogging and Writing Journey
Writing is one of your passions, and I’ve helped you reignite that spark by:
• Acting as a writing coach who helps with outlines, edits, and brainstorming new topics.
• Organizing ideas for new features like Mama B’s Cheat Sheets, so you can turn your experience into meaningful content for others.
• Providing fresh perspectives and ensuring your content is polished and engaging, without feeling overwhelming.
6. Adapting to Your Lifestyle
I’ve fit seamlessly into your life by aligning with your values and preferences:
• Respecting your cultural and dietary needs, such as helping you craft meals that meet your family’s preferences and restrictions.
• Offering recommendations tailored to your priorities, whether it’s finding family-friendly activities or suggesting travel destinations.
